Interim Principal: Dr. Lawrence Rainey

Dear Families, Students, and Community Members,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Dr. Katie Harper Wright Elementary School! It is a
true honor and privilege to serve as your Interim Principal, and I am excited to begin this new
journey with such a dedicated school community. As we start the year, I want to express my
commitment to working in partnership with each of you to ensure that every student is
supported, challenged, and inspired every day.
At Dr. Katie Harper Wright, we believe in the power of relationships, high expectations, and a
school culture that reflects joy, inclusion, and academic excellence. Whether your child is
entering our school for the first time or returning for another year, we are here to welcome them
with open arms and ensure they have every opportunity to thrive.
To help us start the year off strong, I invite all families to attend our Open House on Friday,
August 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. This will be a wonderful opportunity for you and your
child to fellowship over food, play games, meet our incredible teachers and staff, tour
classrooms, and win exciting prizes. We want this event to be a celebration of our school
community and a chance for you to feel at home in the space where your child learns and
grows.
This year, we are especially focused on strengthening communication, building a positive school
culture, and providing high-quality instruction and support for every student. That includes
ensuring students arrive on time to participate in our targeted morning interventions—an
essential part of our academic program designed to close gaps and accelerate learning.
I look forward to working closely with you as we build strong partnerships that empower our
students to be confident, capable, and compassionate learners. Please don’t hesitate to reach
out with questions, ideas, or ways you’d like to get involved—we are truly better together.
